There Review also found at http: There is only a brief mention of the characters in the first book. I have to say I love the Wilde brothers. Rugged, handsome outdoorsmen with exciting jobs and even more intriguing and genuine personalities. You know this is fiction because Sawyer embodied every ideal quality you could imagine. I also liked the fact that Devin was a strong female character. She spoke her mind in a confident without cocky manner and didn't mince her words. Too often the female lead can be too insecure where they can come across as too needy, no worried in this story.
While the storyline is a little bit far fetched, it was entertaining nonetheless. Between the beautiful background of the story and the chemistry between the Sawyer and Devin, this story delivered exactly what I was looking for. Wilde Side by Jannine Gallant Born to be Wilde 2 Romantic suspense with another Wilde brother sees Sawyer leading a group on a white river rafting trip. The clients are his godfather, Walton, a presidential hopeful and a few others along for the ride. With a number of questionable events involving the potential murder of Walton and more than one suspect there is little time for romance.
With a potential murderer to unveil and a romance to cement this is an action-packed fast-paced suspense-filled story that had me hoping Devin and Sawyer would find a way to stay together. This is my honest review. Hang on for a wild ride in this romantic suspense--as wild as the whitewater rafting trip that brings Devin and Sawyer together! Instant sparks fly, but she's a confirmed city girl, aide to a congressman, and he's only comfortable in the great outdoors.
They both want a future together but don't see a middle ground. While Devin and Sawyer are trying to figure out their relationship, someone makes several attempts on the congressman's life, ultimately drawing Devin into the danger. The author did Hang on for a wild ride in this romantic suspense--as wild as the whitewater rafting trip that brings Devin and Sawyer together! The author did a great job continually ramping up the suspense and offering several possible villains.
Just when you think you know who did it, a plot twist sends you in another direction. Fans of romantic suspense are sure to love this one! Wilde Side is the second excellent romantic suspense book in the Born to be Wilde series written by author Jannine Gallant. She pushed him down on the bed then headed toward the bathroom.
Jul 05, Donna rated it liked it. This was a romance story and mystery thriller all wrapped into one. Although I enjoyed the mystery, I found the romance part to be a little annoying. The two main characters seemed to move rather quickly from being complete strangers into a committed relationship.
All in all, I enjoyed reading this book. It took a couple of c This was a romance story and mystery thriller all wrapped into one. It took a couple of chapters to get into it and to keep all of the characters straight, but once I figured out who was who, it became much easier to read and I found myself reading nonstop. An enjoyable book to read. Lots of surprises and action. I did feel that Devon was a bit too strict with her feelings and felt that she treated Sawyer very poorly for alot of the time. Where she called him a chauvinist, he was actually being quite polite and considerate. Still, it was a wonderful adventure to read. I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of this novel.
The tension builds right from the beginning with a great cast of characters. The didn't enjoy the romance of the novel quite as much. I felt that it was very quick, almost instantaneous and it didn't develop further in any interesting way. I was glad things worked out for the pair but I didn't really feel very invested in them as a couple. It is so that Walton who is running for President could look like a manly man and family man.
They had a video crew along, from a political show, to document his wonderfulness. Sawyer owns the rafting company and he and Devin have an attraction from the start. At first they think they have bad luck, but with that many horrible things happening they think that someone is causing them problems. They leave the river early because of the danger.
Once they are off the river Sawyer and Devin try to see each even though they live so far apart. They come across many problems trying to make it work and continuing to try to find who is causing Walton political and physical problems.

I kept getting very irritated with both Devin and Sawyer because they were not trying hard to find a compromise to the living location problem. Devin finally came up with a compromise and Sawyer got his head out of his fanny and agreed. This was an OK read, but not great.

There was some pretty good suspense, but the romance part was a little lackluster in my opinion. Wilde Side is the second book in Jannine's Born to be Wilde series but can easily be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed the suspense and action parts of this book but the romance didn't work for me. The first part of this book really worked for me. I loved the whitewater rafting scenes, there was plenty of action, a nice start to a romance, mystery and the scenery was described beautifully.

I liked both Devin and Sawyer although the fact that Devin was so sure that the relationship was doomed from the beginning was a bit disconcerting.
Although I had a good guess at the villain causing the problems on the rafting trip there were enough red herrings thrown in to keep they mystery interesting and fresh. Once the river trip was over the suspense continued to be a good part of the story but the romance completely fizzled for me. I had a hard time believing they "fell in love" based on their actions let alone the length of time they had known each other.
I did however continue to enjoy the mystery of who wanted to hurt Walton and why. Although I found the romance lacking I enjoyed the suspense and the author's writing style. I wanted to grab my family and head to Idaho to take the white water rafting trip! I do plan to go back and read the first book and I hope that maybe it was just these two characters that didn't work for me and that I'll enjoy both the romance and the suspense in the rest of this series.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for providing this book. I loved book one in this series and book two is another winner. If you like fast paced romantic suspense, you will love this book. Devin is the aid to an independent congressman running for president. As an independent candidate, no one expects him to have a chance at winner As part of his campaign, he takes a fast water rafting trip. Sawyer owns the rafting company and is very concerned abo Another winner!
Sawyer owns the rafting company and is very concerned about taking an inexperienced group on such challenging rapids, and that is before the trouble begins. One problem after another occurs. The only thing that has gone right is Sawyer meeting Devin the congressman's aid , but, other than chemistry, they don't have much in common.
Sawyer breaths a sigh of relief once they're off the water, but the problems keep on coming. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel. Want to Read saving…. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Refresh and try again.
